Fairy Tale 2 - Universal Playtime
One day, Universe was in a particularly good mood. Better than that, in fact: Universe was playful, joyous, almost exuberant. It had an irresistible urge to express itself. But how?
Universe gazed at the humans. It noticed that they expressed themselves in a wide variety of ways. Sometimes they spoke, sometimes they sang. Sometimes they jumped around, or danced, or otherwise used their limbs and bodies. Sometimes they wrote things down; sometimes they drew things or painted things; sometimes they made music.
Universe reflected. It felt that it had no means of speaking or singing, or jumping or dancing, or writing or drawing or painting or composing music.
It also noticed that, though the humans could do all of these things, none of them knew how they did it. This made Universe chuckle, especially when it too realised that it didn’t really know how it did the things that it did.
Universe decided that the best thing to do was simply to will the expression of its joy and not worry too much about what that would entail or how it would happen.
And the clouds parted, allowing a sunbeam to crash onto your face as you crossed the bridge, and a butterfly landed on your head.
